I completed a degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University followed by a History of Science Masters at Imperial College, London. Not quite wanting to leave academia behind, I worked in marketing for Bloomsbury Academic (publishing) for three years, initally on Politics and Philosophy books and then promoting Visual Arts books and online products.
In January 2016 I moved to Wellington, New Zealand, to rediscover my roots and work in digital communications for renewable energy company Meridian.
I've been proofreading and copyediting for my peers since my school days, and more recently informally for start-ups,
small businesses and organisations, and formally for Bloomsbury Publishing.
I launched CoventryCopy in February
I cut corporate jargon, remove superfluous words and tell you when you've said the same thing twice. I bring a fresh eye to your material, ensuring it is effective and to the point. This is something I've been doing for a while.
My approach to every task is unique. I'll listen to what you want and work to your deadlines.
I take audience, tone and format very seriously, keeping these consistent and appropriate for the purpose.
I value honesty in my interactions with customers. If I think something doesn't make sense I'll tell you. If you want me to stop 'meddling' with some text you feel strongly about then just say.
